This photo provides a close-up look of the back of a partially treated portal.
A table saw with the cutting blade tipped to 45 degrees was used to cut the groves into which the formed standoff is stapled.
The depth of the grove is slightly less than the thickness of the wire so that the
standoff is clamped between the portal and box when the portal is secured to the box using screws.
The portal thickness in this case is 3/4 inch.
