Barn Owls lay from 2 to 12 round, white eggs with at a frequency of every 2 to 3 days. If prey is abundant, the clutch size is larger, and the frequency less.
The female begins incubation as soon as the first egg is laid, therefore, the eggs hatch at a 2 to 3 day interval. Incubation ranges from 28 to 35 days.
The above photo is a frame from a video taken with an low resolution color IR video camera. In poor lighting conditions, the video reverts to black and white. Therefore, the colors seen are not true colors.
The nesting materials seen in the box are branches and leaves that have been brought into the box by tree squirrels, and not the owls.
