The European Starling is very aggressive, and it will drive away other cavity nesting birds. The Starling nest pictured here is in a Flicker nest box which had been occupied previously by a Western Screech Owl. As a Flicker nest box's opening is 2.5 inches, both the Screech Owl and Starlings are able to enter the nest box. |
